Communication Settings

The communication settings allow creating new communication data points or configuring existing ones. These are used to send AT commands to a modem in case of connect or disconnect.

The "Communication Settings" can be opened either from the Device Overview panel or the Channel Overview panel.

example.gifThis is how to create a new communication setting

  1. Click the "New" button.

  2. This opens a pop-up dialog for name specification of the new communication setting. Enter a name. This is automatically the name of the new data point of the type _ChannelManager_CommunicationSettings.

  3. Select the new created communication setting in the list on the left.

  4. Click the ChannelManager-05.gif button of the "Connect" area to define a new AT command that will be sent to the modem during connection initialization. The definition of several AT commands for the same communication setting is possible. Each line contains a string in the following format:

    <type>|<command>|<expectedresponse>|<timeout>

  5. Click the ChannelManager-05.gif button of the "Disconnect" area to define a new AT command that will be sent to the modem during connection termination. The definition of several AT commands for the same communication setting is possible. For the format of an AT command see step 4.

  6. Select an AT command and click the ChannelManager-06.gif button in the corresponding area to delete it.

  7. To delete a communication setting inclusive its connected and disconnected AT commands select this communication setting and click the "Delete" button.
