BACnet Object Types

Currently the WinCC OA BACnet driver supports all object types that are highlighted bold in the following table.

Object Type

Object Type ID

Comment

Accumulator

23

Addition of impulse data of measurement devices over the time. Used for balancing, statement and energy performance management (for interval mass counter see Pulse Converter).

Analog Input

0

Measurement (e.g. temperature measurement value)

Corresponds to an analog input value.

Analog Output

1

Placement (e.g. place command for rule valve).

Corresponds to an analog output value.

Analog Value

2

E.g.  as result of a calculation.

Averaging

18

Object including the statistic functions like minimum, maximum, average and variant.

Binary Input

3

Notification of binary states (e.g. operation, interruption or alarm notification).

Binary Output

4

Switch (e.g. switching command on/off).

Binary Value

5

E.g. calculated from a logical function.

Calendar Object

6

Operating calendar (e.g. holiday list).

Is manipulated with read and write property services. Complex properties are written and read as string values.

Command

7

Command for the execution of several predefined activities of other objects.

Device

8

General system parameter for BACnet user description (AS, MBE or other kits).

Event Enrollment

9

General system parameter for criteria definition for the event notification via Algorithmic Change Reporting.

File

10

Object for data transfer (e.g. program, data storage, archiving).

Group

11

Object for grouping readable properties of arbitrary objects in the same device.

Is manipulated with read and write property services. Complex properties are written and read as string values.

Life Safety Point

21

Object which includes information about the properties for danger alert applications in the network.

Life Safety Zone

22

Object for summary of danger alert object (e.g. for fire detectors, fire sections).

Loop

12

Object for regulation functions (e.g. PID regulator).

Multistate Input

13

Notification of multiple states. The alert states are coded as numbers (e.g. Alert: Off, state1, state 2, ...).

Multistate Output

14

Switching, placement

Output states are coded as numbers (e.g. switch command: Off, state1, state 2, ...).

Multistate Value

19

E.g. as calculated value.

Notification Class

15

Object for the time-dependant mapping of alarm and event notifications.

Program

16

Object for program controlling in a BACnet device (e.g. load and start).

Pulse Converter

24

Object for impulse conversion for mass counting in defined time intervals (not used for statement purposes, see Accumulator).

Schedule

17

Object for execution of circular activities and definition of unique exceptions.

TrendLog

20

Object for trend recording in a BACnet device.
