  CTRL Debugger, basics

The CTRL Debugger is a debugging facility for the WinCC OA programming language Control . You can:

  • Use the CTRL Debugger to look at CTRL scripts that are executed in the User Interface or in the CTRL manager.

  • Define breakpoints which tell the manager that is running to stop as soon as it reaches a specific line.

  • Execute instructions step by step, and set variable values.

  • Look at and set variable values during execution.

  • Debug scripts irrespective of where in a WinCC OA system the manager and the script are running, even on a distributed system.

caution.gifCaution

The Debugger does not check whether a system is running with an online connection to a process. Since debugging can also intervene in online operation, the user must personally ensure that editing the application does not pose a risk.
