CTRL Debugger, basics

The CTRL Debugger is a debugging facility for the WinCC OA programming language Control . You can:

Use the CTRL Debugger to look at CTRL scripts that are executed in the User Interface or in the CTRL manager.

Define breakpoints which tell the manager that is running to stop as soon as it reaches a specific line.

Execute instructions step by step, and set variable values.
Look at and set variable values during execution.
Debug scripts irrespective of where in a WinCC OA system the manager and the script are running, even on a distributed system.

Caution

The Debugger does not check whether a system is running with an online connection to a process. Since debugging can also intervene in online operation, the user must personally ensure that editing the application does not pose a risk.
